Tottenham Hotspur have a glorious opportunity to end their trophy drought this season.
Spurs haven’t won any silverware for over 17 years. It has been a long wait for their supporters, and that could finally come to an end soon.
Ange Postecoglou’s side have one foot in the final of the Europa League after beating Bodo/Glimt 3-1 in the first leg of their semi-final clash.
Manchester United are likely to be the other side to reach the final, and Spurs, who have beaten them three times already this season, will back themselves to do it again.
But, what will Postecoglou do if he gets his hands on the Europa League trophy? Micah Richards and Alan Shearer have had their say.
Micah Richards can imagine Ange Postecoglou doing one thing if Tottenham win the Europa League
Postecoglou has come under enormous criticism this season.
Tottenham have had a shocking domestic campaign and are currently in the bottom five. Daniel Levy has sacked managers for far less in the past, but he has stuck with the Australian.
The big reason is that Spurs are still in with a chance of winning the Europa League, and Postecoglou has publicly said that he always wins silverware in his second season.
Richards and Shearer both think that Postecoglou could win the trophy, prove his doubters wrong and then immediately walk away from the job.
In the latest episode of the Rest is Football podcast, Richards said: “Imagine Ange, though. Imagine Ange. He always says, ‘I always win a trophy in my second season.’
“I can just imagine him at the end, thinking at the end, ‘all right, what are you saying now?’, and just like leaving. It could be chaos!
Shearer replied: “Yeah, I agree with that thinking, because he has always said that. And I mean, there are such strong reports, aren’t they, that even if he wins it, then he could be off anyway.
“But for him, if he does win it, and then he just walks off, says, ‘thanks guys, see you later’, big payoff, good for him!”

Should Ange Postecoglou leave Tottenham?
Postecoglou winning the Europa League should make him an instant hero at Spurs.
Yes, Tottenham’s performances under him this season haven’t been great, and he has often had a go at the supporters as well. But, if he ends their 17-year trophy drought, he deserves all the praise in the world.
However, Postecoglou’s future should be away from Spurs.
It is clear that his tactics are not working at Tottenham, and he has often looked really frustrated with what’s happening in front of him.
Many Spurs fans want him gone too, so we think the best option for all parties this summer would be to part ways – even if he wins the Europa League.
