Former Manchester City and Aston Villa defender Micah Richards has had his say on Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli, proclaiming that he has lost his way.
It’s a tricky time in general for Tottenham right now but Alli has been off the boil for quite some time and is struggling to help his club out of their current mess.
As per BBC, Richards said: “I’ve been a player who’s lost their way as well. I burst onto the scene at 17, but the fans stuck by me and I won a Premier League. Everyone’s got their own journey and now it’s time to see the mental toughness of Dele Alli and how good a player he really is.
“You’ve got to be mentally strong. At the time I had really good managers who always believed in my ability and I tried to keep my attitude good. As soon as the team got better, the pressure came off me.”

TBR’s View – Easy to forget how young Alli still is but he needs to decide what type of player he wants to be
When Alli first came onto the scene, he was a number ten, breaking into the box beyond Harry Kane and bagging hatfuls of goals.
Obviously, a modern player has to be versatile but since then he has been played in a variety of positions; deeper in midfield or from wide and it’s diluted the sense of what kind of player he wants to be.
Because he’s played in the Champions League, World Cup and for an elite club, the pressure has gone up. But he’s still got more than enough time to prove his quality once again, and as Richards eludes to, being in a struggling side doesn’t help a younger player.
