Micah Richards has told The Monday Night Club that he loved the celebration from Bruno Guimaraes following his winner for Newcastle United at the weekend, while he also lauded the midfielder’s partnership with Joelinton.
Eddie Howe’s men look to be all but safe in the Premier League following their 2-1 win over Leicester City on Sunday. They now sit 12 points clear, with Burnley having seven games remaining – including one against the Magpies.

It was Guimaraes who was the hero at the weekend. He bagged the equaliser against the Foxes on the half-hour mark. And then he scored the winner to send St James’ Park into a frenzy in stoppage-time at the end of the game.
The signs are that Guimaraes could prove to be an amazing signing for Newcastle. And of course, Howe appears to have transformed Joelinton during his time at the club.

The pair have been excellent under the Magpies boss. Richards lauded them both. And he shared what stood out to him about the former Lyon star’s game against Brendan Rodgers’s side.
“Guimares and Joelinton as the two number eights, who would have thought that before the start of the season? The thing I liked was his celebration. Did you see his celebration after his second goal? So much passion and desire,” he told The Monday Night Club.
“He says he wants to be a legend at the club and he is saying all the right things.
“He seems to have took to Newcastle so well and long may it continue, because you like those success stories.”
Newcastle the envy of many sides with Bruno Guimaraes deal in January
Guimaraes has been superb when he has featured for Newcastle. But his form will not come as a huge surprise to some of their Premier League rivals.
Reports claimed that both Arsenal and Tottenham wanted Guimaraes during the January transfer window. And yet, it was Newcastle who made the move happen.
It would be interesting to know whether either of the North London sides rue missing out. At his current rate, you would imagine that they will be left kicking themselves at some stage.
