‘The work-rate he put in’: Micah Richards impressed by another Tottenham player other than Kane at City

Tottenham pulled off one of the shocks of the season last night as they saw off Manchester City at The Etihad to send a shock through the rest of the Premier League.

For Antonio Conte, it was a potentially game-changing three points. The week has been spent with talk of Conte being unhappy with certain aspects of life at Tottenham. But last night, he looked anything but unhappy, as a Harry Kane double and a first Spurs goal for Dejan Kulusevski won the game.

And while Kane rightly took the plaudits for his own performance on the night, Sky Sports pundit Micah Richards was quick to point out after the game how much Kulusevski had impacted the game.

“Kulusevski, I thought was outstanding as well tonight. The work-rate he put in tonight (was brilliant),” Richards said on Sky after the game.

The Swedish winger was a January signing by Tottenham. Along with Rodrigo Bentancur in midfield, Spurs fans got themselves a glimpse of what might be to come from the young attacker.

TBR’s View: Perfect Start For Kulusevski

What a dream full debut for the new Tottenham signing. First, he gets the goal in the opening moments to put his team ahead. Then, when it matters at the end, he keeps his cool to produce a quality cross for Harry Kane to nod home.

If this is a sign of things to come from Kulusevski then Spurs fans could be in for a treat. He was quick, direct, composed when he needed to be and, as Richards says, worked incredibly hard.

He looked the perfect Conte player and Tottenham fans will be delighted with their new man.
