Tottenham Hotspur have made several shrewd signings during the transfer window, with the arrival of Gareth Bale puting the spotlight firmly on Spurs for a while.

The 31-year-old, who left Tottenham for Real Madrid in 2013 in what was then a world record deal, rejoined Spurs on a season-long loan in mid-September.

Bale is currently working his way back up to fitness but, in his absence, Spurs have nonetheless been impressive on the attacking front.

To date, Jose Mourinho’s charges have scored 12 goals in just four Premier League games, including a sensational 6-1 hammering of Manchester United.

Spurs have netted five or more goals in three games this season, having beaten Southampton 5-2 on 20 September, then thrashing Maccabi Haifa 7-2 last week.

Son Heung-min has seven goals and three assists from just six games in all competitions, while Harry Kane has a stunning eight goals and seven assists from seven games.

And BBC Sport pundit Micah Richards is excited about the prospect of Bale, Son and Kane combining for the Lilywhites.

“Imagine Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Gareth Bale together if they are all playing well,” Richards told BBC Sport (5/10, 18:26).

“Imagine that – I think that could be one of the best partnerships in the league. Teams are going to be frightened of them.

“I won’t mention the result from the other day but everyone knows what the score was. So I’m excited for Spurs, I really am.”

Both Son and Kane have really stepped it up a gear this season with some truly formidable displays, culminating in impressive goal and assist tallies.

And with Bale potentially slotting alongside them in an attacking trident, opposition defences could well and truly be blown away.

That said, Spurs have strengthened all across the board, with the likes of Joe Hart, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Sergio Reguilon also doing well.
