Arsenal set up an FA Cup fifth-round tie with League One Portsmouth after beating Bournemouth 2-1 at the Vitality Stadium.
The Gunners won the match thanks to goals from Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah, who was making his first start since returning from a loan spell at Leeds.
Sam Surridge scored a consolation goal in stoppage time but it was Mikel Arteta’s men who progressed.
The Spanish boss chose to ring some changes to his team, although it still proved too strong for the Cherries.
Arsenal are languishing in mid-table this season and may view the FA Cup as an alternative passage into Europe for 2020/21.
Mesut Ozil was on the bench last night and Arteta didn’t need to call upon his services.
The German took to Twitter after the game to speak of his delight at the club’s young guns winning the game.

Ozil did touch upon the injury suffered to Shkodran Mustafi.
He was stretchered off during the contest and looks to be facing a spell on the sidelines.
The 31-year-old playmaker signed for the Gunners from Real Madrid in 2013 costing £42.4 million (BBC).
He has played 249 games, scoring 43 goals and registering 76 assists for the Gunners.
With Ozil sat on the bench last night, Joe Willock was utilised as a number 10 and did well.
At 31, Arteta will know that the World Cup winner needs managing and he will benefit from the rest.
Despite his critics, Ozil is still an important player in the Arsenal team and it would seem the boss recognises that.
Arsenal will now await news on Mustafi’s injury. The £90,000-a-week (Spotrac) defender was playing particularly well until his blow and the prognosis might not be good.
The Gunners do look to be on the right track at last.
After a miserable start to the season, it seemed Arteta was left with a thankless task to revive the club’s fortunes.
This win and a favourable round five tie could bode well and winning a trophy would seriously impress the club’s supporters.
