Mesut Ozil raves about 20-year-old Arsenal talent during Twitter Q&A

Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has raved about Hale End graduate Emile Smith Rowe during a recent Q&A on his Twitter account.

The 92-cap former Germany international hasn’t been included in Arsenal’s squad for the first half of 2020/21.

He now looks set to leave the club this month, with Fenerbahce keen on signing the player.

Ozil has spent his time on the sidelines training and doing bizarre match report style tweets on the Gunners’ fortunes.

It would appear he will get the chance to swap the keyboard for the playing field in the coming weeks though as an Arsenal departure nears.

Before his time at the Emirates seemingly comes to an end, however, he has done a Q&A.

One supporter asked him his views on Smith Rowe and he responded with high praise.

Smith Rowe has played in the last four games in all competitions, scoring once and registering two assists.

The 20-year-old has been forced to wait patiently for his chance in the Premier League though.

After shining in the Europa League earlier in the campaign, supporters were crying out for the attacker to be unleashed in the league.

Since starring against Chelsea in his first top-flight outing of the season, the Gunners have won every game.

He has provided a badly needed injection of creativity and has perhaps seen Mikel Arteta have a rethink over his January recruitment plans.

As for Ozil, the end is nigh for the 32-year-old at Arsenal.

The £350,000-a-week player arrived at the Gunners in 2013 for £42.4 million from Real Madrid.

Should he leave as expected this month he will do so having scored 44 goals and registered 77 assists in 254 appearances for the club.

In Smith Rowe, Arsenal might have found their long-term replacement.
