For the second time this year, Alisson Becker and Roberto Firmino knocked Lionel Messi out of a semi-final at a major tournament.
After Liverpool shocked Barcelona with a stunning comeback victory in the Champions League semi-final, Alisson and Firmino repeated the trick this summer.
Starring roles for Alisson and Firmino

Brazil knocked Argentina out of the Copa America at the semi-final stage with a 2-0 win. Roberto Firmino scored one and assisted the other while Alisson kept a clean sheet.
Firmino put the ball on a plate for Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus in the first half. And Jesus returned the favour with 19 minutes remaining as Firmino had a simple tap-in.
Messi had the chance to equalise in the second half when Brazil only had a one-goal lead. He lined up a free-kick and was hoping for a repeat of his goal in the Champions League semi-final first leg against Alisson.
But the Liverpool stopper has since learned his lesson about Messi’s free-kicks. And his positioning was so good that he was able to catch the ball too.

Brazil will now play the winners of the Chile-Peru clash with Alisson and Firmino hoping to win more silverware. Here are some tweets from Liverpool fans discussing this.
