‘Messi is that you?’: Summerville replies to Leeds U23 teammate’s Instagram

Crysencio Summerville was clearly impressed by Liam McCarron’s display as Leeds United’s under-23s drew with Fulham on Monday as he compared the winger to Lionel Messi on Instagram.

Mark Jackson’s side drew their first game since clinching their league title. But in truth, Leeds were not at their best against the Cottagers.

However, a few of the players did impress in the stalemate. And McCarron was arguably one of those who did well.

The 20-year-old started the game at left-back. And it appeared that he was set for a long afternoon as he picked up an early yellow card.

However, he really grew into the game. He was pushed further forward with Niall Huggins coming on at the break. And that seemed to bring the best out of the Scotland youth international.

McCarron made several exciting bursts forward. And while the final ball was not always there, he showed the kind of glimpses that suggest that he could really be a key player for Jackson’s men next year.

It certainly seems that McCarron’s performance impressed those who shared the stage with the former Carlisle youngster.
