Message Tottenham hid in club announcement from June 2024 could now come true after Europa League win in Frankfurt

Tottenham are now into the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League after a narrow 1-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt.

A penalty from Dominic Solanke was enough to book Spurs a spot in the last four after a 1-1 draw in the first leg last week, where Pedro Porro netted a wonderful backheeled finish.

Ange Postecoglou is now just three games away from securing European glory for Tottenham – and also qualification for the UEFA Champions League, which would be quite the achievement seeing as Spurs currently sit 15th in the Premier League.

However, even if Tottenham end up just reaching the final in Bilbao, it would mean a hidden message from Spurs posted back in June 2024 has come true.

What Tottenham predicted back in June

When announcing the new away kit with a creative video last summer, Tottenham ended the 48-second footage with a message which read: “Holiday special. Destination. Bilbao, Spain.”

That was seemingly a statement of confidence ahead of the 2024/25 UEFA Europa League campaign, where the final will, of course, be held in Bilbao, as aforesaid.

Now, Tottenham are just two games away from making this bold prediction come true, with Norwegian side Bodø/Glimt or Lazio the only thing stood in the way of doing so.

Winning the UEFA Europa League might not be enough to save Ange Postecoglou

As amazing as it would be for Tottenham to win the UEFA Europa League, it still may not be enough to save the Australian’s job.

Postecoglou will be judged on more than just the European campaign – according to the Daily Mail – with Daniel Levy wary of making the same mistake as Sir Jim Ratcliffe last summer, where Erik ten Hag was kept in place after surprisingly winning the FA Cup.

Furthermore, TBR Football understand Tottenham have already approached Oliver Glasner of Crystal Palace – which suggests a change in the dugout is being seriously considered.
