Paul Merson has told Sky Sports (broadcast on 20/4; 22:00) that he noticed that some of the Arsenal players were not happy with Aaron Ramsdale for not saving the first goal the Gunners conceded against Chelsea on Tuesday.
Mikel Arteta’s men secured a massive win in their bid to finish in the top-four in the Premier League. Eddie Nketiah scored twice, while both Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka also found the back of the net.

Arsenal put themselves out of sight in the second-half. But the game was in the balance at the break as they went in level at 2-2.
Chelsea’s first goal came about after Timo Werner cut in from the left. The German had an attempt from outside the box.

There was a deflection off Granit Xhaka that sent the ball spinning. And ultimately, it managed to find its way past Ramsdale.
The goalkeeper was criticised for not keeping it out. That was perhaps harsh given that the ball was spinning and his view was slightly blocked by Rob Holding.
But Merson noticed how Ben White, Xhaka and Holding all reacted immediately after the ball beat Ramsdale.
“Have a look at the three players that were in front of the ball, when they turn around to the goalie. They all turn around at the goalie and they are not happy. They can’t believe he hasn’t saved it. And for me, that tells you everything,” he told Sky Sports.
Ramsdale has enough credit in the bank as Arsenal win
Perhaps Ramsdale should have done better. But he has been outstanding for much of the campaign. So he had more than enough credit in the bank.
And ultimately, Arsenal won. It is a massive victory for Arteta’s side. And they have now got some momentum going for the final stages of the season.
