Liverpool fans have welcomed Jurgen Klopp’s latest update on Harvey Elliott as he continues his rehabilitation from a long-term injury.

The 18-year-old prodigy suffered a fracture-dislocation of his ankle just four games into what looked set to be his breakout year.

Elliott was initially speculated to miss the majority of the current season after undergoing surgery.

Although this remains a possibility, he has regularly been updating fans on social media over his fitness, and he looks to be on the right path.

Earlier this week, Elliott was pictured undergoing his latest rehabilitation session with the club’s medical team.

And speaking ahead of this weekend’s Premier League meeting with West Ham, Klopp said the teenager’s recovery is going very well so far.

“He’s great, Harvey’s great,” the manager told Liverpoolfc.com at the AXA Training Centre on Friday.

“I have no idea when exactly it’ll be, but we can’t wait actually. It looks really good.

“Whichever person you speak to from the rehab department, you hear that he is so determined, he is really very positive all the time with us here.

“It is nice to see him smiling the whole day and working hard. He will be back, but how soon I don’t know.”

The update comes in wake of a seemingly long lay-off for Roberto Firmino, who has suffered a “serious” hamstring injury.

Therefore, some Liverpool fans were pleased to hear about good news in the form of the Elliott update:
