West Ham United are reportedly considering a move for Maxi Gomez this month, with Marko Arnautovic’s future at the club in doubt.
The Hammers forward is the subject of interest from a Chinese club, with a £35 million offer having been lodged already.
West Ham rejected that, but The Sun report that the Austrian will seal a move to Shanghai SIPG before the end of the week.

It could be a massive blow for West Ham, with Arnautovic having been a standout performer since his move to the club in 2017.
That said, the club surely do not want a repeat of the Dimitri Payet situation and are probably happy to cash in on a lost cause.
Gomez would soften the blow
Arnautovic leaving would certainly sting a bit at first – he really has been a top player for the Irons.
But Manuel Pellegrini can soften the blow of losing the striker by signing up Maxi Gomez.

Gomez, The Daily Mail report, is on West Ham’s list of potential replacements for Arnautovic.
The Uruguayan has bagged nine goals and made five assists so far this season, and has caught the eye for struggling Celta Vigo.

He is considered one of the best young talents in La Liga, and has previously been compared to fellow countryman Luis Suarez.
He has a release clause of £45 million which is not cheap, but the Arnautovic sale would certainly help fund it.
