Wolverhampton Wanderers should keep a close eye on what Celta Vigo are doing between now and the end of the season – because coveted striker Maxi Gomez could become available for a bargain fee.
The Spanish club are in trouble in La Liga at the moment – they sit 18th in the table and the threat of relegation is very real.

They have found life difficult, winning only six games this term.
Despite the team’s struggles as a collective, Gomez has impressed by scoring nine goals and making five assists.
He is clearly Celta’s standout player.
Interestingly, it has now come to light that Gomez’s release clause will apparently drop to just £22 million (Sport-English) if the club drop out of the Spanish top flight – meaning Wolves should be watching the situation.
Wolves need extra firepower
Gomez was a target of West Ham United’s in January (The Guardian), but Wolves could do with the Uruguayan more.
This term the Black Country club have relied on Raul Jimenez heavily, but the Mexican is only on loan at Molineux.
Having scored 14 goals in a successful season so far, Wolves are expected to move to secure him permanently.

But Nuno Espirito Santo will need extra support for him next season, and Gomez for a potential £22 million could be brilliant business.
Although Diogo Jota has done well supporting Jimenez, the Portuguese is a natural winger.
The physical Gomez coming in to partner Jimenez up top next term could hand them a genuinely frightening frontline.
