Max Gradel has rekindled his affection with the Leeds United support by applauding Marcelo Bielsa and the club’s supporters – after the Whites gained promotion from the Championship to the Premier League.

It is the first time the Whites have returned to the top flight in 16 years since their financial collapse in 2004. Years in League One, play-of heartache on multiple occasions, point deductions and plenty more has followed.

But the combination of Andrea Radrizzani as owner and Bielsa as manager has struck a chord not only with fans, but has seen Leeds climb into the Premier League. Ex-Leeds players responded in their masses on Twitter.

Gradel, 32, posted on Twitter after Huddersfield Town’s 2-1 win over West Brom saw Leeds achieve an automatic promotion slot – praising the work of Bielsa, the players, the fans and the rest of those associated with Leeds.

Ivory Coast international Gradel currently captains Ligue 1 side Toulouse, but having entered the final 12 months of his contract – Le10Sport claim giants Olympiakos are interested in luring the former Leicester man to Greece.

Leeds, meanwhile, are next in action on Sunday evening as they take on Derby County away from home – as they look to finish the 2019-20 campaign as champions of England’s second division.
