Max Aarons recruitment would surely end Kyle Walker-Peters’ Tottenham career

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Max Aarons from Norwich City. The Sun claims that Spurs are keen on signing the right-back, who can also play as a left-back, after his brilliant form at Carrow Road so far this season. A £15 million fee has been mentioned.

It would certainly make sense. The talented youngster has been in fine form this term and Spurs are always on the hunt for top young British talent.

However, it would almost certainly spell curtains for a current Tottenham player.

Kyle Walker-Peters has been on the cusp of breaking into the Tottenham team for some time now. However, he made a mistake when given a chance v Barcelona and this news will no doubt be alarming.

Aarons would be a direct competitor for his role in the squad. At £15 million, he would also be given preference because of the financial outlay in his services.

Walker-Peters, meanwhile, would perhaps be seen as potentially dispensable.

Tottenham recently tied the England under-21 star to a new contract which would mean they could recoup a good fee for the player. Because if Aarons is signed by the club, then Walker-Peters’s future looks incredibly bleak.
