Mauricio Pochettino is becoming famous for having his picture alongside Tottenham Hotspur players when they sign a new contract, but his latest pose sees him more delighted than ever.
That is because it sees the Argentine gaffer pose alongside his son, Maurizio, after the 18-year-old signed his first professional contract at Tottenham Hotspur after starring in the club’s Under-18 side.
Naturally a right winger, Barcelona-born Pochettino scored three goals in the Under-18 Premier League last season, against Norwich City, West Ham United and Aston Villa. He even made the step up to the Under-23 side.
Now, Pochettino has agreed professional terms at the club after turning 18 in March, before posting a picture of himself and his father on Instagram – with the Spurs boss looking a mix between proud manager and proud father.
TBR’s view – Can Pochettino play under Pochettino?
He has a long way to go, and enormous competition ahead of him. Teenager Pochettino needs to set his sights on breaking into the reserve side at Spurs next season, if he has any chance.
Still only 18 and showing plenty of potential, he certainly has a chance to make it, though. His name, and his father’s influence will only act as a boost towards that end goal.
A couple of loan moves away, and Pochettino could one day play, under father Pochettino.
