Maurizio Pochettino has confirmed he has put pen to paper on a new Tottenham Hotspur deal by posting a picture of him signing the contract alongside his father and former Spurs boss – Mauricio Pochettino.
The 19-year-old winger was set to see his contract expire at Tottenham on Tuesday, but the Premier League confirmed on their retained lists that Spurs had offered the teenager a new deal.
The Evening Standard stated that the Barcelona-born ace was within days of seeing his contract expire – but a day before the official expiry, Pochettino has confirmed he has put pen to paper.
To the delight of Spurs supporters, Pochettino has posted a picture of him signing a new deal alongside ex-Spurs boss and Tottenham legend Pochettino senior – who was replaced as boss by Jose Mourinho last November.
It is unclear how long Pochettino has agreed to remain at Spurs for, though there is high hopes among the Spurs academy that the winger could shine in years to come – having impressed for the club’s Under-23 side this season.
Pochettino will certainly have his work cut out in trying to get into Mourinho’s senior side. The likes of Erik Lamela, Lucas Moura, Son Heung-min, Steven Bergwijn and plenty of others ahead of him in the first team.
