Leeds United’s transfer window appears to be hingeing on a potential move for Swansea City winger Daniel James.
If the club does not manage to secure such a deal before the window closes, many fans will be disappointed with the club’s transfer activity.
However, even if Leeds United do bring in a player, the highlight of their window should regard a player they have managed to keep a hold of.
Jack Clarke has been impressing for Leeds this season and the 18-year-old has seen his name linked with Premier League sides. Perhaps most worryingly it was Tottenham Hotspur’s name that would have had Leeds worried.

As reported by Football.London recently, Tottenham are interested in the services of the teenage talent. Spurs need more home-grown players in their squad and Clarke would fit that bill.
Other teams who have been linked do not carry the same threat as Tottenham might. Leeds will feel they can fend off mid-range Premier League interest. Spurs are a different beast.
So the news that Mauricio Pochettino is not yet convinced by Clarke might be the best piece of news Leeds could receive. As reported by the London Evening Standard, the Argentine is ‘not fully convinced’ by the player.
Leeds will face a battle keeping hold of Clarke in the months to come. But if they are promoted, only teams like Tottenham would represent a big threat. So hearing Pochettino is not yet ready to pursue a deal might be the best bit of news Leeds get in the transfer window.
