Mauricio Pochettino sends message to Harry Kane on Instagram today
Tottenham Hotspur star and England captain Harry Kane turns 29 today.
And plenty of his fans and peers have been wishing the Spurs icon a happy birthday on social media.
Kane shared some of the well-wishes on his Instagram stories.
The likes of Kieran Trippier, Jack Grealish, Kyle Walker and Emerson Royal saw their posts shared.
Even Mauricio Pochettino wished his former Spurs player a happy birthday.
The former Tottenham manager took to Instagram (as shared by The Spurs Express on Twitter) with a message and picture:
Although Pochettino hasn’t been at Spurs since 2019, he remains good friends with Kane.
The Argentine oversaw the player’s development from a talented prospect to arguably the best striker in the world.
In June last year, Kane talked up his friendship with Pochettino, in conversation with ES Magazine.
He also revealed he was supporting PSG in the Champions League before their semi-final exit to runners-up Manchester City.
“We got so close to winning it with Mauricio,” Kane said. “I would love to see him win it. We had a great relationship. He is a great person, a great friend.”
Asked if it was possible for a manager and player to truly be friends, Kane replied: “He was the boss, the leader, the one that set the standards in how we played and how we trained.
“So friendship would never get in the way of what he did on the football side of things.
“But we became friends in that the things we did and talked about went beyond football.”
