Paris Saint-Germain spent a huge £32million to sign Germany international Thilo Kehrer in the summer of 2018 from Schalke – but now, he could be sold by Mauricio Pochettino for just £13million. Tottenham have got to be on red alert, allowing them to solve two defensive issues in one move.
Kehrer, 24, moved to PSG in 2018 after breaking into the Schalke side and played 59 times. But since his move to PSG, he has hardly set the world alight. French site Jeunes Footeux claim that Pochettino’s side are willing to let him go this summer, £19million less than the fee they paid for him.
Six appearances shy of a century of outings for PSG, he could now leave. Tottenham, meanwhile, desperately need a right-back – and could do with additions in the middle of the defence too. Matt Doherty has struggled since his move from Wolves, while Serge Aurier has entered his last year. Real Madrid are considering a surprise move for the Ivory Coast skipper.
The duo’s poor form has even seen Japhet Tanganga used on the right of the defence. In the middle, Toby Alderweireld, Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez have all proved inconsistent – while Joe Rodon is still learning. Spurs need additions at both right-back and centre-back, and Kehrer can do both.

Kehrer is a proper player, but Tottenham must nurture his talent
While the nine-time Germany ace is probably more of a right-back than he is a centre-back, he is more than capable of doing both. His form has been questionable at PSG but he is still a player with enormous quality, and is young. He just needs regular football to bring the best out of him.
Of course, he cost more than £32million for a reason. So, surely Spurs need to consider a move for Kehrer and at £13million, he is an absolute bargain. He can solve two birds with one stone, and give Spurs not only an answer for the immediate future – but for the foreseeable future, too.
