Tottenham Hotspur are through to the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup after a comfortable 3-1 win over rivals West Ham last night. Mauricio Pochettino’s men were never truly under threat as they cruised to victory.
The star of the show was South Korean forward Heung-min Son. He bagged two goals on the night as Tottenham booked a last eight meeting with North London rivals Arsenal.
His all-around performance was fantastic. Son covered a lot of ground and gave West Ham’s defenders trouble for the entire 90 minutes. It was a swashbuckling display from the industrious and clinical frontman.

It’s certainly been a busy period of football for Son. After a long season last term he went to the World Cup with his nation. He then helped South Korea win the Asian Cup during this season and has barely stopped.
The result has been a sub-par Son for much of Tottenham’s season so far.
After the most recent international break, where again Son played twice for South Korea, Mauricio Pochettino has used him sparingly.
Son did not play in Tottenham’s last two Premier League games and the result was a fit and firing Son last night.
His two goals were his first of the season and giving him a little rest appears to have worked wonders.
This brace will now boost his confidence and Tottenham fans will hope they now get to see the Son who scored 18 goals last season.
