Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has claimed there is no doubt in his mind that Dele Alli will overcome a difficult period to rediscover his best form.
The 23-year-old has been struggling so far this campaign and has no goals or assists in his four appearances across all competitions so far.
After being sidelined at the beginning of the campaign with a hamstring problem, the attacking midfielder has had to be patient for his opportunities and mainly wasted them whenever given the chance.
He’s started both Champions League group stages match so far without making an impact, including the 7-2 defeat at home to Bayern Munich on Tuesday.
Spurs boss Pochettino has shown his full support though for the playmaker during a difficult period and is standing by him.
“There’s nothing wrong. You need to understand that football is about form, about some not so good periods. Dele only needs time to recover his best performance,” Pochettino said in his press conference, as quoted by Football.London.
“We’re going to help him, provide all the tools and platform for him to recover his best way to play. There’s no doubt Dele is going to recover. He’s in a tough period but we need him, he’s a very important player for us. In time, we’re going to recover the best Dele Alli of course.”

TBR’s View:
Pochettino has given Alli a huge vote of confidence with his comments and it seems a smart move.
He has just been overlooked for Gareth Southgate’s 25-man England squad for the international break and will be feeling pretty downbeat.
But there is doubting he’s got the quality to bounce back, as he’s still a young player that has proven himself in the past and it’s too soon to judge considering he is just back from injury.
Alli is definitely one of the individuals that needs to take his game up a few gears and the international break should give him a good time to reset.
