Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with numerous Championship players over the past few transfer windows but none of these moves have materialised.
And judging by various reports, it is Mauricio Pochettino who is putting a block on these players as he is not convinced that this is the way forward.
According to The Daily Mail, Pochettino pulled the plug on a deal to sign Aston Villa starlet Jack Grealish last summer.
And in January, Pochettino blocked moves for Jarrod Bowen (Hull City) and Jack Clarke (Leeds United) as he was unconvinced, according to The London Evening Standard.
Another report by The London Evening Standard adds to this theory, claiming Pochettino did not want Leicester City star James Maddison when he was at Norwich City for the same reason.
But Spurs cannot continue to ignore the best young players in the division below – especially as Dele Alli was plucked from the Football League.
Tottenham have been linked with West Bromwich Albion youngster Rekeem Harper recently (print edition of The Sun via HITC Sport).

And this is not a deal Pochettino should be blocking as Harper will become available on a free transfer if he does not agree fresh terms with the Baggies.
The 18-year-old is already a regular in West Brom’s starting line-up despite his young age and he has played 16 games this season.
Tottenham must take a low-cost gamble on the England under-19 central midfielder, regardless of whether Pochettino wants him or not.
