Former Tottenham manager, Mauricio Pochettino, has drawn comparisions between Dele Alli and Brazilian legend, Ronaldinho.
Pochettino was the special guest alongside Jamie Carragher on Sky’s Monday Night Football last night. The game they covered saw Leicester City run out 4-1 winners against Leeds.

However, the talk following the game soon got onto other subjects, including players Pochettino had played with and managed, and, inevitably, his time with Tottenham.
And Pochettino, when speaking about Brazilian legend Ronaldinho with whom he played with at PSG, believes him and Alli have similar character traits.
“Another player similar with charisma is Ronaldinho who I played at Paris St Germain. When I saw Dele Alli, he was in this way. People loved Dele, and what an amazing player Ronaldinho was. Talent, but complete because of charisma. That is what makes a special player.
“I don’t want to talk too much. Dele had this charisma, the same”.
Pochettino was speaking about the comparison and touched on how his own son was obsessed with Ronaldinho, before saying Dele was in the same bracket in terms of how he played his football.

Alli has been outcast under Jose Mourinho this season but enjoyed his best football under Pochettino at Spurs, playing a crucial role off Hary Kane in a more advanced midfield role.

Nobody doubts what a talent Dele Alli is and Pochettino’s words just reaffirm how much the footballing world thinks of him.
However, he’s in a bit of a rut at the moment and needs to get out of it. Comments like this could catch Alli’s attention and he might well just fancy proving his former boss was right.
It’s a pivotal moment for Dele at the moment and one that most fans, including England supporters, hopes he can overcome.
