Former Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has been speaking to the press in Spain as he continues to enjoy his time away from the game.
He spoke about several topics, including Gareth Bale’s impending move to Tottenham, his relationship with Jose Mourinho, and the recent reports linking him with the vacancy at Barcelona.
But for Leeds United fans, the most interesting question would have been in regards to his favourite teams to watch in world football.
Of course, Liverpool are one of the best teams in the world right now whilst his affinity for Tottenham has Spurs on the list.
But Leeds are also one of the teams the Argentine likes to take in, as he told Cadena COPE.
“I like to watch Leeds with Bielsa, because it is dizzying football. Tottenham, because there is a lot of love; and Liverpool, because they have talent.”
The reason why is clear. Marcelo Bielsa. Pochettino is a known Bielsa acolyte. The former defender once played for the Leeds boss at Newell’s Old Boys and is clearly a big fan of the way he has got Leeds playing their football.
Leeds opened their Premier League campaign in some style with a rampant 4-3 defeat against Liverpool, in a game Pochettino would have undoubtedly enjoyed.
Leeds fans will just hope this brand of football can also keep them in the Premier League.
