Matthew Dennis has completed a move to recently-relegated Norwich City after his contract at Arsenal had expired, and Bukayo Saka has reacted to the teenager’s Instagram post on Tuesday.
Dennis, 18, was a crucial part of Arsenal’s Under-18 side and played in the third, fourth and fifth rounds of the FA Youth Cup before being left out of the side that eventually lost to Blackburn.
He even played for Arsenal’s Under-23 side as a substitute against Derby in Premier League 2 last season, but he has failed to win a new deal at Arsenal. An England Under-15 international, Dennis has moved on.
Indeed, the versatile teenager – who can play on both sides of the midfield or even at right-back – has joined Norwich City on a three-year deal. He posted on Instagram after completing the move, underlining his delight.
It is expected that Dennis will initially be a part of Norwich’s Under-23 side with a view to breaking into the first-team set-up under Daniel Farke, who is likely to remain in the managerial hotseat despite relegation.
Arsenal superstar Bukayo Saka reacted to Dennis’ Instagram post, claiming it was the former Arsenal academy star’s “time”. Other Gunners youngsters including Folarin Balogun and Miguel Azeez also responded.
