Reports on Sunday claimed that Arsenal are one of the Premier League sides keen on signing Christian Pulisic amid doubts over his future at Chelsea.

Pulisic is out of contract in 18 months. And the Daily Mail suggested that there has been little suggestion from either side that he may be in line to sign a new deal at Stamford Bridge.

The report from the Mail noted that Arsenal are monitoring Pulisic. Meanwhile, Newcastle and Liverpool are also in contention to sign the 24-year-old, who cost £58 million.

Pulisic is a player who has never quite delivered during his time with Chelsea. And with that, supporters of the various clubs may not be overly excited about the links with the attacking midfielder.

But there is one member of the Arsenal squad who would definitely love to see Perisic move to the Emirates.

Of course, Matt Turner is currently playing alongside Perisic at the World Cup with the USMNT. The pair have both impressed in their opening two games, with Gregg Berhalter’s men going unbeaten so far.

When Turner moved to Arsenal, he was asked by the club’s official website whether he knew any other American players here in England. And he suggested that Pulisic was someone he was looking forward to spending more time with.

“Yeah, I’m good friends with Christian Pulisic so obviously he’s at Chelsea,” he told the club’s official website. “And I’m tight with Brenden Aaronson as well who just signed up with Leeds.

“That’s a little further away I know, so Antonee Robinson at Fulham and Christian Pulisic at Chelsea, I’m hoping that I’ll get to spend some time with them and create those relationships off the field as well. I have a cousin who lives in London and obviously some of my friends from Uni back in the day still live in and around London. Which is nice.”

You would imagine that Pulisic would be very open to moving to the Emirates. He has not been able to hold down a regular spot in the side with Chelsea. And obviously, the chance to join Arsenal will appeal to many right now.

Working with Turner as well may boost the Gunners’ hopes of getting a deal done. Turner will have few complaints if his countryman follows him into Mikel Arteta’s ranks.
