Wolves defender Matt Doherty has praised Wolves team-mate Adama Traore and commented on their relationship on the right hand side.
As per the club’s official website, Doherty says Southampton didn’t know what to do with the rapid Spaniard in the 1-1 draw between the sides on Saturday.
He said: “When I came on, I was told to play a bit more inside and let Adama stay out wide. We obviously work on those kinds of things on the training ground all the time, and I managed to get in behind a few times, with one of those leading to the goal.
“When I play alongside Adama, we’re told to switch all the time – to never be in the same position. Our movement is quite good, and at times today their defence didn’t know what to do.”
TBR’s View – Doherty and Traore could be a hugely potent duo
Traore’s talent has never been in doubt but it has taken until his second season at Molineux to truly find a position that suits him and the confidence to bring his best form.
Doherty was a star last season who has struggled this time around, but if the right-sided pair can both catch fire at the same time, they will be difficult to stop.
