Mateusz Klich has told Leeds United’s official YouTube channel that his most memorable moment since arriving at Elland Road came in last season’s win at Villa Park when Marcelo Bielsa’s side came from 2-0 down.
Klich has enjoyed a turbulent spell at Leeds. He was quickly frozen out during his first year in the Championship. But Bielsa’s arrival proved to be a turning point for the Poland international.

The midfielder started every league game last season, scoring 10 goals and contributing nine assists as Leeds came agonisingly close to promotion out of the Championship.
And when Klich was asked to pick out his most memorable moment from his time with the Whites so far, the midfielder picked out one of the most famous wins from last season.

However, he initially joked about the appearance that seemingly resulted in Thomas Christiansen losing faith in the midfielder.
“I think the Cardiff game, two seasons ago, when I slipped,” he told the club’s official YouTube channel. “I’m joking.
“I’d say Aston Villa away when we came back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 after the 90th minute. That atmosphere, the fans were buzzing. Yeah, it was a great game.”
Plenty of Leeds fans seemed to feel that Klich had been written off too soon by Christiansen. But few could have imagined just how influential he would prove to be under Bielsa.
Even Bielsa seemed to take a little time in that first pre-season to make a decision on Klich. But the midfielder deserves enormous credit for forcing his way back into the picture, and then making sure that he stays there.
