Mateusz Klich has admitted, in comments reported by BBC Radio Leeds, that he felt that he could not have played worse than he did in Leeds United’s recent draw with Luton and was determined to make amends against Blackburn Rovers.
Marcelo Bielsa’s men endured a frustrating evening against the Hatters at Elland Road. The relegation-threatened side took a 1-0 lead. Stuart Dallas did find an equaliser during the second-half, but the Whites were unable to find a winner.

That allowed the chasing pack to close the gap. And had results gone against Leeds on Saturday, Bielsa’s side may have only been three points clear of third place Brentford with five games to go.
But Leeds produced a much better display at Ewood Park. And Klich played a crucial role in the 3-1 win.

He set up Patrick Bamford for the opening goal. And he settled any nerves with Leeds’s third goal shortly after Blackburn had got one back at the start of the second-half.
It was a much better performance from Klich. And the Poland international conceded that he felt that he had a point to prove following his display against Luton.
“I was joking after the last game with my parents and my girlfriend that I cannot play worse than against Luton, so I wanted to play better and wanted to score a goal finally because it’s about time,” he said, as reported by BBC Radio Leeds.
“We all played well today. It was very hard conditions, the pitch wasn’t great. We didn’t want to use it as an excuse so we wanted to show that we were going to fight until the end.”
Leeds remain in a fantastic position. But with Brentford in such fine form and West Brom not letting up either, the Whites cannot take anything for granted.
They will need their key men, such as Klich, to continue to make an impact in the coming games.
His latest display however, suggests that the 30-year-old is more than up for the fight.
