Leeds United midfielder Mateusz Klich has been discussing the club’s current wage deferral and it seems that the players will eventually be receiving the money they have currently volunteered to forego.
As reported by BBC Sport in March, Leeds United were one of the first clubs whose players and coaching staff volunteered to defer some of their wages in order for the club to continue paying non-playing staff at Elland Road, Thorp Arch and beyond.
It was later reported (The Sun) that the Leeds United players will be given a 2 percent pay-rise by Andrea Radrizzani when things have returned to normal.

Now, Leeds United fan favourite Klich has seemingly confirmed that is the case in an interview in his homeland.
Speaking to Przeglad Sportowy, the midfield maestro revealed his expectation that he will eventually be repaid for any referral, but was reticent to go into too much detail.
“I can’t say anything about it. It is true that by agreeing to the new conditions, we have been assured that when the game resumes, we will all be happy.
“I would not call it a reduction because our salaries have been frozen. The money will be transferred to us at a later date, I’m not worried at all. When the club presented us with such a proposal, we immediately at our WhatsApp group came to the conclusion that nothing would happen to us if we agreed. And thanks to that we can help many people who work in Leeds.”
Leeds United’s players have rightly been praised for their actions amid the current global health crisis. The club as a whole deserves credit and Radrizzani’s apparent intent to reward his players for such loyalty at this time should also get the praise it deserves.
Hopefully, the ultimate reward for everyone involved will be a return to the Premier League and many happy and healthy faces around the club after this global health crisis has subsided.
