Arsenal star Bukayo Saka was lauded by former Premier League stars Gary Neville and Ian Wright after breaking an England record.
Speaking on ITV’s coverage of England’s semi-final clash against Denmark (19:30; 07/07), the ex-England internationals were full of praise for the teenager as Saka made England history.

The 19-year-old became the youngest player to represent the Three Lions at the semi-final stage of a major international tournament. And Saka excelled on the night, assisting the vital equalising goal for England and causing problems for the Danish defence.
Saka missed out on the quarter-final clash against Ukraine in Rome last week. However, the Arsenal star did start against Germany, where the Hale End academy star yet again shone for England.

Indeed, the Arsenal attacker has become a fan favourite for England players and supporters. And Neville and Wright believe that he has excelled since coming into Gareth Southgate’s side.
Wright said on the teenager winger: “He’s not just arrived here, he’s somebody that was destined to do what he’s doing right now. That’s why everyone at Arsenal knows what he’s capable of, and we’re seeing it right now.”

Neville said on Saka: “It’s a massive achievement, but I think it’s typical of Gareth’s reign where he’s ripped up the rule book.”
Bukayo Saka has been ‘electric’ for England
The Manchester United icon later added: “Saka’s been electric in the games that he’s played. I was happy he was rested for the game on Saturday, but tonight he should be absolutely flying.”
Although Saka was the first player brought off by Southgate on the night, there is no doubt that the Arsenal star stands with a good chance of starting the final against Italy.
The England star has been outstanding in all three of his starts for the Three Lions. And against Italy, Saka could be a reliable head for Southgate to start in what will be the biggest game the youngster will play in so far in his young career.
