When he checked in at Celtic during January of 2019, Maryan Shved was expected to take Parkhead and the Scottish Premiership by storm.
Over two years later, however, the Ukrainian starlet looks to be running out of time to showcase his talents to Celtic.
He arrived north of the border from Karpaty Lviv and came with a glowing reputation as one of European football’s next big things.
Ahead of his move, Ukraine legend Andriy Shevchenko raved about the versatile forward.

He told The Scottish Sun: “It’s clear he has a lot of talent. There is still a lot of work to be done, but he has progressed hugely.
“He is motivated to show Celtic what he can do.
“There’s no doubt he has improved a lot and will go on to become a big player for Ukraine.”
Shved has made just three appearances for the Hoops during his time at the club, scoring one goal in Scotland.
This season he was sent on loan to KV Mechelen in Belgium and it’s a move that has proved more detrimental than helpful.
The winger has played just 644 minutes of football, starting just six games for his temporary club.
A defining moment came during a 3-2 win over Waasland-Beveren when he scored twice and registered an assist.
The £7,500-a-week player has failed to replicate that form though and Celtic can’t be happy with how his loan is going.

Shved has two caps to his name for the Ukraine national team but he’s facing a fight to sign his Celtic career.
Future
He has a contract at Parkhead until 2023 but it seems pretty clear that Neil Lennon doesn’t fancy him as a Hoops players.
One saving grace could come if a new manager comes in and chooses to take a proper look at him during the summer.
As things stand though, the chances of him ever earning a proper run in the Celtic team look slim.
His form in Belgium is doing little to enhance his already bleak-looking prospects.
