Reports in Zimbabwe are suggesting why Aston Villa’s deal for midfielder Marvelous Nakamba has not yet been officially announced.
As reported by The Telegraph, Aston Villa had agreed an £11 million deal with Club Brugge. A medical was reportedly booked in and it seemed that the newly-promoted side had got their man.
However, no official confirmation has yet arrived. According to The Herald in Nakamba’s native Zimbabwe, there are two reasons why the deal has been delayed.

Firstly, it appears the club and player are not yet agreed on personal terms. The report also states that there are still concerns over securing a work permit for the player.
Sky Sports reported earlier this week that Aston Villa could not foresee any problems securing clearance for Nakamba to play in the UK. However, it seems there may still be some underlying issues.
Aston Villa have been targeting Nakamba for some time and it is clear that Dean Smith must see him as a potential pivotal member of the first-team.
But with just a week remaining of the transfer window, Aston Villa need to move fast to get this deal over the line.
