Aston Villa midfielder Marvelous Nakamba has been discussing his start to life in England.
The newly-promoted Premier League side spent a reported (Sky Sports) £11 million on the Zimbabwe international in the summer. He arrived from Club Brugge with a reputation as a dominant midfield performer and has since become very popular with the Aston Villa fanbase.
Speaking to The Herald whilst on international duty with The Warriors, Nakamba admitted he was very happy with his start to life at Villa Park.
“The fans are very friendly, they are amazing, even if we walk in the streets, they are very supportive. I am feeling at home and enjoying the experience.
“I am giving everything, it is a new league and I am trying to adjust to the new environment, now I am more mature, I have played somewhere and it is a bit easy to adapt.
“I am 25 now and I think I can handle the pressure. For me it is an honour playing against the best players in the world week-in-week-out.’’
The 25-year-old has certainly done a lot to instantly win over the Aston Villa fans. Since making his Premier League debut against West Ham in September he has gone on to become an ever-present for Dean Smith’s side and his energy and work-rate makes him an easy popular choice for the supporters.
Aston Villa have plenty of midfield options and, therefore, Nakamba will need to ensure he keeps up this level of performance as the season goes on.
If he can do that, there is no reason why his time at Aston Villa can continue to be positive.
