Arsenal have finally completed the signing of Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid and the midfielder has picked out Cesc Fabregas as his ‘idol’.
Odegaard completed his loan move to The Emirates earlier today. The Norwegian joins on a loan deal until the end of the season and will add yet more creativity for the Gunners.

A fine season with Real Sociedad last term will have Arsenal’s hopes up. The midfielder put in some fine displays in La Liga, before struggling for minutes at Madrid this year.
However, he seems delighted to be in North London and speaking to the club’s official website, Odegaard cited how Cesc Fabregas left a big mark on him growing up.
“I always liked the way Arsenal played and everything about the club. So it’s a dream come true in many ways. There were a lot [of Arsenal players I admired]. But I think Fabregas, for me, was one of my idols when I grew up. So especially him,” Odegaard said.
“The way he controls the game, the way he dictated the game, his ability to give assists and also score goals. Everything about his game. I tried to learn as much as possible when I grew up watching him. He was the top player.”

If Odegaard gets anywhere near the performance levels Fabregas showed for Arsenal, he’ll be happy. The Spaniard was an assist king while with Arsenal, racking up an impressive 92 stats in just over 300 games. (Transfermarkt)
TBR View: Fabregas a fine role model for Odegaard
There aren’t many better in the position Fabregas played so Odegaard is right to want to base his game on him.
Fabregas is loved at Arsenal, even though he moved to Chelsea eventually. He left a big impression and Odegaard will be hoping he can take a leaf out of the Spaniard’s book and make a similar impact in his short time with the club.
