Martin Odegaard on how Arsenal view Ethan Nwaneri

Martin Odegaard has revealed that Arsenal players don’t view Ethan Nwaneri as an ’emerging talent’ but rather as a ‘great player’.

The Gunners’ academy graduate is making a name for himself this season with impressive performances and he is now a key part of Mikel Arteta’s squad.

Odegaard told Arsenal: “I’ve said before that we don’t look at him as an emerging talent, we just see him as a great player. That says it all really for someone who’s 17.

“He’s just a natural part of our squad and the team, and you can see the talent he brings. It was another great goal from him, we’re all really pleased for him.”

Will Ethan Nwaneri start for Arsenal vs Man City?

Nwaneri could keep his place at right wing against Manchester City having impressed in that role against Girona on Wednesday.

Gabriel Martinelli played in that role against Wolves, however, he struggled to play on the right and he could now move back out onto the opposite flank.

Kai Havertz is likely to keep his place in the middle meaning Arteta’s expected front three to face City will be Nwaneri, Havertz and Martinelli.

Arsenal’s predicted line-up vs Manchester City: Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Lewis-Skelly, Rice, Partey; Nwaneri, Havertz, Martinelli.
