Arsenal icon Martin Keown has now been discussing the progress and performance of a player linked with a North London move.

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side will have their full focus on the games that remain this season, and all of what they can still achieve.

However, it would be an oversight if the club didn’t also have an eye on their targets for the summer, when the club will look to make even more progress.

Arsenal seemed to be quiet in January because of their FFP restrictions, but there should be much more freedom in the summer.

It’s always been felt as if a striker would be the priority, however, there may not be an obvious target available, and there could be a better chance to strengthen the midfield.

That being said, Martin Keown was incredibly impressed with Leicester City’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall when watching him in the FA Cup for the BBC Sport today.

Dewsbury-Hall was linked with an Arsenal move in January by some credible sources, and Keown thought he was making brilliant progress in the Championship.

Martin Keown says Arsenal linked Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has made great progress

Keown was initially speaking before Leicester’s game against Chelsea kicked off and said the £40m-rated midfielder would end up in the Premier League whether his side were promoted or not.

He said: “10 goals this season, I think again with [Wilfried] Ndidi in the team I think he’ll play slightly higher today.

“He’s really coming on and trending on well, he’s definitely going to be playing in the Premier League next season whether his team do or not.”

Keown then added later in the game: “Dewsbury-Hall is just looking and saying, ‘look, I just ran 30 yards, any danger of you getting to the far post?’

“Outstanding Dewsbury-Hall there.”

Of course, at 25-years-old Dewsbury-Hall is certainly an attractive profile for top flight clubs.

There will just be a few question marks over the midfielder’s ability to join a team fighting right at the top of the league.

Dewsbury-Hall is yet to earn an England cap and although he would improve Mikel Arteta’s squad on the whole, Arsenal will now be hoping to improve their first eleven first and foremost.

All that being said, Keown was also recently discussing a player he was gutted to see leave Arsenal in the past.
