Martin Keown has heaped praise on Liverpool star Jordan Henderson and claimed that he never quite gets the credit he deserves.
The Englishman was an unused substitute in the first game of the World Cup and came off the bench in the second. He has, however, started each of the Three Lions’ last two games, and he has been brilliant.

Martin Keown says Liverpool star Jordan Henderson doesn’t get enough credit
England boss Gareth Southgate decided to go with a midfield trio of Declan Rice, Jude Bellingham and Henderson against Senegal in the round of 16.
That proved to be a very smart decision – not just because of the Liverpool man’s quality on the ball and leadership, but also because it gave more freedom to Bellingham to express himself.
Henderson deserves immense praise for that, but Keown believes the 32-year-old never really gets the credit he deserves. However, he still hailed him as a special player, and predicted that he’ll start against France tonight.
Keown wrote in his column for The Daily Mail: “England will want to have the lion’s share of possession against France and I expect Southgate to stick with the same three-man midfield of Jude Bellingham, Rice and Jordan Henderson.
“Henderson does not always get the credit he deserves. You do not win what he has won — the Premier League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, Champions League, Super Cup, Club World Cup —without being a special player.
“It has been an inspired decision from Southgate to bring him back and Bellingham and Rice have benefitted from his experience in midfield.”

TBR View:
Henderson has almost always been underrated.
The Englishman has been brilliant for Liverpool over the years, but he rarely ever gets the credit he deserves for everything he does on and off the pitch.
Southgate’s decision to bring him into England’s midfield has proved to be a brilliant move, and his experience will surely help Rice and Bellingham against really tough opposition today.
It will be interesting to see how the game goes tonight, but if Henderson and co manage to win the midfield battle, England’s chance of victory will increase considerably.
