Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been praised by Martin Keown for his “ridiculous” number of goals and assists.

The Reds talisman has recently returned to the fold after recovering from injury. And he hasn’t needed long to hit the ground running again.

Salah missed Liverpool’s Premier League clashes against Bournemouth, Chelsea, Arsenal and Burnley after returning from the Africa Cup of Nations, where he picked up a hamstring injury.

The 31-year-old returned against Brentford, registering a goal and an assist. However, he then missed games against Luton, Nottingham Forest and Southampton, as well as the Carabao Cup final.

Mohamed Salah can’t stop scoring for Liverpool

Salah then returned in the Europa League last-16 first leg against Sparta Prague. And he has featured in every game since for Liverpool.

He faced Manchester City in the Premier League, putting in a solid display in the 1-1 draw and then played the full 90 minutes in the return leg against Sparta.

In the 6-1 hammering of the Czech champions, Salah registered a hat-trick of assists as well as a goal.

Salah has become the first Liverpool player to score 20 or more goals in seven consecutive seasons in a row, and Keown loves what he’s been seeing from him.

Keown said about Salah on talkSPORT (15 March 2024, 12:56pm): “Salah now is at the top of his game. His numbers are just ridiculous. He just keeps putting the ball in the back of the net.”

Mohamed Salah deserves statue outside Liverpool stadium – opinion

Put simply, Salah is one of the best players in the Premier League and in the world. And what a bargain he has been for Liverpool at just £34million.

Salah’s quality, attitude and consistency for club and country have led to silverware and the breaking of individual records.

The Egypt international has certainly done enough to warrant something along the lines of a statue outside Anfield over the coming years.
