Arsenal have been drawn against Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals of the Champions League and Martin Keown has reacted instantly to the news – saying it gives the Gunners a “good chance”.
The Champions League draw was done on Friday morning, with the quarter-finalists finding out who they will play in the last eight – and then which two teams they could then face in the semi-finals.
Arsenal will play against Bayern, hosting the first leg before going to Germany for the second leg. The winner of that tie will then take on either Manchester City or Real Madrid in the competition’s last four.
An exciting draw, that also sees PSG take on Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid face Borussia Dortmund. Sam Matterface asked Keown about the draw immediately after Arsenal were drawn against Bayern.
“It’s interesting, Harry Kane was at Arsenal. 10 points behind Leverkusen, a good chance for Arsenal to progress into the next round of the competition,” Keown told TalkSPORT this morning (15/03, 11.15AM).

Martin Keown reacts, Arsenal draw Bayern in Champions League
Arsenal of course, needed penalties to beat Porto in the last round. Jamie O’Hara predicted before the draw that Harry Kane’s Bayern would knock Arsenal out. Tony Cascarino says they can get to the semis.
Arsenal and Bayern have history in the Champions League, too. The German champions knocked the Gunners out of the competition in 2017 with an aggregate 10-2. But, Bayern are behind Leverkusen.
It is a hugely exciting tie, but Arsenal will surely fancy their chances against Bayern with Kane and Eric Dier’s side not at their very best right now. But of course, Kane is on fire – difficult one to predict.
