Martin Keown has told BT Sport (broadcast on 2/1; 22:05) that Kieran Tierney is going to set the standards at Arsenal for years to come following the left-back’s latest outstanding display.
Mikel Arteta’s men are now starting to get back on track. They have won their last three, with their latest victory seeing them thrash West Bromwich Albion 4-0 at the Hawthorns on Saturday.

Tierney set them on their way with a stunning finish in the first-half. He also provided an assist. And his overall performance saw the 23-year-old stake an emphatic claim for the man of the match award.
In truth, Tierney – along with Bukayo Saka – has been Arsenal’s standout performer all season. Even when the results were poor and Arsenal were being mentioned in the same conversation as the relegation candidates, Tierney seemed to be impressing.

And following his performance, Keown insisted that Tierney has been a fantastic addition to Arsenal’s ranks.
“Look at the anger,” he told BT Sport, as they watched his celebration following his goal. “He wants to make something happen, that’s what I like. Your football career’s for a short period. You want to make a mark.
“And that young man’s come down from Scotland and he doesn’t want to waste any time. And he’s going to set the standards for the future for Arsenal.”
The signs certainly suggest that the fee spent on Tierney is going to prove to be a bargain in years to come. According to Sky Sports, the Gunners paid £25 million for him in 2019.
He is already well on his way to justifying that fee. And he looks to have every chance of being a future Arsenal captain if he continues to develop at his current rate.
