BBC Sport co-commentator and pundit, Martin Keown, was left blown away by how good Luis Diaz was for Liverpool as they saw off Manchester City at Wembley.
The Reds saw off a second half fightback from City to run out 3-2 winners in what was another enthralling tie between the best two Premier League sides at this moment in time.
Manager Jurgen Klopp opted to go with the trifecta of Diaz, Salah, and Mane up front today, with Diogo Jota missing out. And Klopp was rewarded, as Mane scored twice and Diaz and Salah were a constant menace down the flanks for City’s back fourt.

But for all the brilliance the trio can produce, it was a moment from Luis Diaz in the 38th minute that really caught the eye of the onlooking Keown. At the time, Diaz wriggled his way free of a number of City challenges before being brought down. And Keown, speaking on co-comms on the BBC, was seriously impressed by Diaz’s skills.
“I mean his feet are so quick he could play in a telephone box”, Keown said.
“There was no space there. He takes it out of his stride and just waltzes past people. It’s brilliant.”
Diaz will be looking to turn his fine performances of late into more goals. He did have a few half chances today but was happy to see Mane doe the business in the end.
TBR’s View: Luis Diaz Continues To Shine For Liverpool
There might come a day when pundits and fans run out of things to say about Luis Diaz, but for now, the compliments just keep on coming.
Diaz was brilliant once again today and the moment Keown pointed out here summed up his brilliance. He’s one of those players who looks to be going nowhere at times then explodes into life and out of situations.
Liverpool have pulled off a masterstroke in signing Diaz, that’s for sure.
