Newcastle United have cemented themselves in the Premier League for another season and now the job will be looking at how they can improve things in the summer even further.
Eddie Howe deserves enormous credit for getting the Magpies to safety. The Toon boss was backed in the January window and his signings have worked out well, with players like Bruno Guimaraes really excelling of late.

Of course, the big question is who might come along next. Huge names in football have been mentioned ever since PIF took over, although internally, thoughts of landing these huge names has been played down. And speaking to Sky Sports today, Martin Dubravka has offered his thoughts on what’s happening at the club.
“I think it’s normal when a takeover like this happens. Now, so many players are being linked with our club. I’m just focussed on my job. Obviously I’ve heard names like Mbappe and Neymar. I don’t know if it’s possible to bring the names like this now. But maybe in the future, I’m glad I can be part of the project now and hopefully we can achieve good things,” Dubravka said.
Newcastle signed Guimaraes, Dan Burn, Matt Targett, Chris Wood, and Kieran Trippier in January. They are expected to add more names in the summer.
TBR’s View: Newcastle Will Reach Numerous Turning Points Under PIF
The signings of Trippier and Guimaraes feel like the first big stepping stones achieved by the club. Both are top class players who should pave the way for more big names to arrive.
Newcastle’s future is an exciting one at the moment. There’ll come a point where PIF really do splash come cash and make that huge signing so many want at some point. Of course, whether it’s an Mbappe or Neymar type figure remains to be seen.
