Celtic are currently struggling in certain areas of the squad. Long-term, centre-back is clearly an issue. Right-back is also a problem and has been for some time.
If the Bhoys could sign a player to cover both positions they would be on to a winner.
Well it turns out that a former Celtic target is now reportedly transfer listed. In the May transfer window of 2017, Brendan Rodgers was reportedly interested in the player who was unhappy at Southampton at the time.
Caceres would have been available on a free transfer and The Sun suggested Celtic had been in touch regarding a potential move to Glasgow.
He ended up staying with Southampton until the end of the season, joining Verona before finally heading to Lazio a year ago.

He is expected to leave the club this month. The likes of AC Milan, Parma and Bologna have all been linked with the player and Cittaceleste suggest he will be leaving this month.
So surely Celtic should be back in the running?
If Rodgers is a fan the Uruguayan is a perfect recruit to solve the right-back situation whilst also providing cover at centre-back and left-back.
The 30-year-old Champions League winner could be a fantastic recruit for Celtic and Rodgers should certainly consider his previous interest.
