West Ham United have been linked with a move for French midfielder Morgan Sanson this summer. Sky Sports reported earlier this month that West Ham were in talks over a move for the Marseille midfielder. The initial report stated that Marseille valued the player at €35 million (£31.3 million).
That deal seemed to die out with West Ham’s signature of Pablo Fornals from Villarreal. The French press, however, seem to think Marseille are still pushing for a deal and would like it done today.

As reported by L’Equipe, Marseille president Jacque-Henri Eyraud and his team have ‘been working for days’ on a deal for Sanson to join West Ham. The transfer is reportedly ‘not buried’ but ‘bogged down’ in English intermediaries.
Why the rush?
Marseille need a big sale before the end of June in order to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations. It is the reason the likes of Dimitri Payet, Kevin Strootman, and Lucas Ocampos are also in the transfer rumour mill.
TBR’s View
West Ham though, might have played a blinder. The original asking price for Sanson was perhaps too high. However, with Marseille now getting desperate, the Hammers might be able to barter themselves a bargain.
If this deal is not done by the end of the day, then it is hard to see West Ham as serious in their pursuit of the 24-year-old.
