Jesse Marsch has told Viaplay that there is no chance of Kristoffer Klaesson leaving Leeds United on loan this summer despite the Whites signing Joel Robles.
Klaesson is in a difficult position at Elland Road. The Norwegian spent last season as backup to Illan Meslier while also playing for the under-23s.

The 21-year-old struggled for the youngsters. But he certainly improved as the campaign went on. And his highlight of the season most definitely came when he replaced Meslier during the 3-2 win over Wolves when he made several big saves.
But obviously, there is a chance that Klaesson will barely feature this term. Meslier has started the season in amazing form. And Joel has come in to rival the pair. The Spaniard is, by far, the most experienced of the trio.

Some may have assumed that Klaesson could potentially leave in some capacity therefore. But Marsch confirmed after the win over Chelsea on Sunday that the youngster is staying put.
“No, Kris is going to stay here,” he told Viaplay. “We brought in Joel Robles to help support those guys, push them for sure, but to bring in a more experienced goalkeeper to help them every day see the savviness and development that these guys can commit to. He’s provided that in a great way.”
No chance of Klaesson leaving Leeds
Klaesson will hope that he gets a chance on Wednesday when Leeds face Barnsley in the Carabao Cup. You would imagine that Marsch will make a number of changes for the tie.
Leeds have made a brilliant start to the campaign. And they will not want to risk a number of the key players. It could therefore, be a real opportunity for some others to impress.
And Klaesson may well be one of those.
On current form, it is probably not going to be too long until Meslier is attracting serious offers. Leeds will hope to keep him as long as possible. But they will also have their eye on who could replace him.
It is going to be a big ask for Klaesson to step up to that level in the future. But he will hope that his patience could be rewarded at some stage.
