Marko Arnautovic should be recalled to starting XI against Cardiff after West Ham exile

West Ham travel to Cardiff City on Saturday afternoon in the Premier League and should go there with the aim to get three points.

The Hammers can continue their unlikely push for a European finish with another victory and are facing team that sit inside the relegation places.

Manager Manuel Pellegrini should organise his side to be on the front foot and recall Marko Arnautovic to the starting XI.

The 29-year-old has not started a league game since January and has been exiled from the line up, with just a string of substitute appearances to his name.

Arnautovic saw a proposed £45million switch to Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande collapse in January (Daily Mail) after a lot of speculation that he would leave the London Stadium,.

The Austria international is still on the books at West Ham and they need to make the most of them.

He is arguably the outstanding individual within the group when he’s performing well and he could rip Cardiff’s defence apart, especially as they are now without injured centre-back captain Sol Bamba for the rest of the season.

West Ham signed Arnautovic for £20million (BBC) back in 2017 and he’s still capable of showing why that was a bargain fee.

The centre-forward is too good to be stuck on the bench for the rest of the campaign and could have an important role to play.
