Former Celtic defender, Mark Wilson, has said that he believes there is an issue at Celtic that isn’t getting the attention it deserves.
Whilst most of the attention seems to be centred around whether Joe Hart needs to be replaced or Greg Taylor needs competition, Wilson believes that Brendan Rodgers must address the fact that Celtic are struggling to create chances.
Wilson said [Clyde SSB], “All the attention goes on the defence recently. The goalkeeper, the centre-backs that do or don’t play.
“But creating chances is a bit of an issue. You look back at the second half at Kilmarnock last week and I don’t know how many entries into the box Celtic had. It couldn’t have been many.
“And you’re looking at today and not many clear-cut chances. So that’s the worry.”
In the defeat to Hearts creating chances didn’t seem to be an issue. According to Sky Sports, Celtic carved out 22 shots on goal.
Out of those 22, only five where on target so that would suggest that whilst Rodgers’ team can create, they need to be more clinical when opportunities present themselves.
Against Kilmarnock, Celtic had 16 shots at goal with only seven of those on target. [Sky Sports] The goals seemed to be coming thick and fast this season.

A 6-0 win over Aberdeen and the 4-1 victory over Hibs seems like an age away now. The problems at Celtic are very real and they are issues that must be looked at by not just the manager, but the players as well.
TBR Celtic told this morning how Cameron Carter-Vickers called on his teammates to offer Callum McGregor more support.
They all now need to step up to halt this slump because an advantage has been handed to Rangers this month and the Celtic fans won’t want to see that advantage get any bigger.
